PR-1782 Class B-2 is a low-density aircraft fuel tank and general-purpose sealant designed for fillet sealing and aircraft fuselage sealing applications. It provides significant weight savings compared with traditional aerospace sealants while maintaining excellent flexibility and fuel resistance.
The B-2 formulation provides approximately 2 hours of application life, making it suitable for larger or more detailed sealing operations where additional working time is required.
PPG Aerospace PR-1782 Class B is a low-density, two-part, manganese dioxide-cured polysulfide sealant. It has a service temperature range from -65°F (-54°C) to 250°F (121°C).
The material is designed for fillet sealing of aircraft fuel tanks and other fuselage sealing applications. It can provide up to approximately 30% weight savings per unit volume compared with conventional sealants used for similar applications.
Once cured, PR-1782 maintains excellent elastomeric properties after prolonged exposure to jet fuel and aviation gasoline and provides resistance to limited contact with diphosphate ester-based hydraulic fluids.
The uncured material is a low-sag, thixotropic paste suitable for application using an extrusion gun or spatula. It cures at room temperature to form a resilient seal with excellent adhesion to common aircraft substrates.
Safety: Refer to the current PPG Safety Data Sheet and Technical Data Sheet before handling or applying this product.
